WIND Hellas selects OSS transformation from MYCOM

MYCOM has announced triple play provider WIND Hellas as a reference customer for its OSS transformation solution: the NIMS-PrOptima converged Fixed/IP/Mobile network performance management platform.

Traditionally CSPs have added new OSS systems within each network domain and for each new technology roll-out as a practical solution for launching projects quickly. However, over time the many hundreds – or even thousands – of systems that result cause complexity and inefficiency across organization silos with non-integrated processes and data, all resulting in higher operational costs and reduced agility and time to market.  In addition, introduction of new services and technology or changes to business processes are significantly hampered by the inability to rapidly and cost-effectively adapt the systems to support the required changes. Each new change is time-consuming, difficult and expensive to implement.

When WIND Hellas, the third largest operator in Greece, embarked on an OSS Transformation project for its network performance management systems in 2010 across its fixed and mobile networks it chose MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima as the platform. Initially WIND Hellas considered NIMS-PrOptima as its network performance management system across its mobile networks covering all RAN technologies, core network, IP network and its value added services platform, but soon chose to extend the solution to include the fixed network.

“With our converged OSS system for network performance management provided by MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima we are able to rapidly and cost-effectively manage the network quality across all our networks and domains within a single system,” said Nikos Babalis, the chief network officer of WIND Hellas. “Even today after many years of being a happy customer we are still impressed by the capability of MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima for example through our current radio access network modernisation programme where it is proving very easy to manage the roll-out of new network equipment.”

Payam Taaghol, EMEA managing director at MYCOM, added: “WIND Hellas has been a satisfied customer of MYCOM for many years and we are very happy that they agreed to be cited as a successful reference of our converged network performance management solution and part of their successful OSS Transformation project.”
