Accedian launches VisionMETRIX 4.0 performance reporting portal for real-time analytics

Accedian

Accedian, has launched VisionMETRIX™ 4.0, the latest version of its network performance monitoring and reporting web portal for service providers and operators.

New features align with operator adoption of dynamic, configurable software-defined wide area networks (SD-WANs) to deliver connectivity and value-added services for business customers.

VisionMETRIX 4.0 is an easy-to-access, easy-to-navigate web portal for operators to monitor both Carrier Ethernet-based mobile backhaul and business service performance. VisionMETRIX can report on service level agreements (SLAs) with pinpoint accuracy and at minimal cost. It also provides customers with an accurate performance data view of network health and proof that the operator is meeting its agreed SLA requirements.

The latest version of VisionMETRIX includes advanced analytics tools that allow operators to provide customers with more accurate quality of service (QoS) monitoring and analysis, ensuring SLAs are being met. By connecting directly to SDN controllers, VisionMETRIX updates its per-second network reporting automatically when the service provider—or end-user—makes changes to network connections, services, or SLAs.

Operators can use VisionMETRIX to:

  • Examine different domains, circuits, and layers across networks, simultaneously
  • Quickly identify and isolate the location of a problem and confirm which customer(s) it affects
  • Differentiate between network and service impairments using visual correlation

Customers can use VisionMETRIX to:

  • Analyse their own data and measure performance according to selected metrics
  • Customise information in real-time, using the portal’s improved dashboard

“It’s critical that customer portals provide a real time view for customers, and that it accurately reflects any changes in the network and how the customer is using it, dynamically and as it happens,” said Scott Ulsaker, Pioneer Telephone/Pioneer Long Distance Inside Plant division manager at Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, the Kingfisher, Oklahoma-based operator that uses VisionMETRIX to monitor and measure its business Ethernet services in Western Oklahoma and Southern Kansas.

“VisionMETRIX gives our customers improved visibility of the service they’re receiving, and allows us to follow their behaviour and adjust our network to ensure that we continue to deliver a high-quality service.”

“Customer portals are a crucial part of business cservices, and customers consider a configurable reporting portal as a key differentiator when choosing their connectivity service provider,” said Keith Donahue, VP of Product Management & Services at Accedian.

“In today’s market for flexible and dynamic networks, customers increasingly expect to be able to “turn up” or “turn down” their connectivity in the same way that they use a cloud-based service. VisionMETRIX enables operators to provide their customers with a user-friendly portal that lets them see immediately what’s happening on their network and take appropriate action.”

Donahue added, “With these new features to VisionMETRIX, Accedian is raising the bar for the analytics and visualisation capabilities available for operators to manage their networks. This lets the operator identify opportunities to add value and introduce new revenue-generating services.”
