4G now available to Britain’s MVNOs through EE’s strategic partnership with Transatel

Transatel is expanding its mobile virtual network aggregator (MVNA) capabilities in the UK thanks to an agreement with Everything Everywhere (EE).

EE was the first to launch 4G in the UK and has the widest 4G coverage and capacity, and has been independently confirmed by Rootmetrics® as the overall UK network performance award winner for H1-2015.

For its part, Transatel is looking to partner with the best quality networks in every country where it provides enabling capabilities for MVNOs. EE now covers more than 93% of the UK population in 4G and is on target to reach 98% by the end of 2015.

EE’s network has received extensive independent recognition, including being ranked the UK’s best overall network by RootMetrics®; Best Network at the 2014 and 2015 Mobile News Awards; Best Network for Business and Best Consumer Network at the 2014 & 2015 Mobile Industry Awards; Best Network at the 2014 & 2015 Mobile Choice Consumer Awards, and Best Network at the What Mobile Awards 2014; Fastest Network at the 2014 uSwitch Mobile Awards; Best Mobile Network at the 2014 Recombu Awards.

Transatel and EE are established partners for enabling mobile services in the UK. Transatel has been launching MVNOs with EE since 2010 and currently powers 15 MVNOs on the network. Transatel is the longest running and largest mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) /A player in the UK, with such references as The Post Office, China Telecom, and Globe.

Jason Bellman, director of MVNO and M2M at EE said: “EE’s successful relationship with Transatel has demonstrated the value of the MVNA model, supporting MVNOs with cost-efficient and flexible enabler services, alongside access to the UK’s biggest and best 3G network. We are really pleased that Transatel is now able to offer MVNOs access to the UK’s best 4G network and are looking forward to seeing more MVNO brands using the EE network.
