Corero Network Security expands global sales and engineering teams

Corero Network Security, provider of First Line of Defense® security solutions against DDoS attacks, has announced the expansion of its sales and engineering teams worldwide with the appointment of Scott Prouty as senior vice president of Sales, North America, and the opening of a new research and development (R&D) office in Edinburgh, Scotland. As DDoS attacks continue to become more frequent and sophisticated Corero is augmenting its sales and engineering teams underscoring the company’s commitment to ensure its customers remain protected against the latest DDoS attack vectors.

According to Corero’s recent DDoS Trends and Analysis report, the average organisation today is combating approximately four DDoS attacks per day, and those attacks are increasing in sophistication. The company’s new UK R&D team in Scotland adds proven network security, virtualisation and software-defined networking (SDN) expertise.

“Attackers are continuing to leverage DDoS attacks in new ways that overwhelm networks, circumvent existing security tools, and impact service availability. Internet service providers, hosting providers and online enterprises look to us to provide a first line of defense against DDoS that not only stops the current breed of attacks from impacting their infrastructure and that of their customers, but can also adapt to future attacks,” said Ashley Stephenson, CEO of Corero Network Security. “As these attacks increase in sophistication and frequency, Corero will continue to invest in sales to maximise our growth and in engineering to ensure our customers have effective real-time, scalable DDoS attack mitigation capabilities that meet their current and future needs.”
