Toronto, Canada – Redknee (TSX: RKN), a provider of billing and charging software for communications service providers, has announced that PT. Bakrie Telecom Tbk. (Bakrie Telecom), one of Indonesia’s fastest growing mobile operators, has extended its investment with Redknee. Bakrie Telecom has deployed the Canada-based company's real-time rating and charging system to offer more value-added data services to its 11 million subscribers as Bakrie expands its service nationwide.

Launching its EVDO network, Bakrie Telecom aims to offer innovative mobile broadband services to the Indonesian market, including low cost wireless devices that provide internet access anywhere, anytime. Business Monitor International has projected that the extensive network investment in the region will lead to broadband growth of 43.4% per year. In order to capitalise on this opportunity, Bakrie Telecom has increased its investment in Redknee’s real-time rating and charging solution, NGRC, to support the anticipated boost in network data traffic and offer differentiated value-added services to its subscribers.

“The competitive landscape that we operate in means that we are continuously looking to our partners to provide us with the tools to maximise our competitive advantage. Our further investment in Redknee will enable us to enhance the customer experience, deliver fresh and innovative services and capture market share,” stated Muhammad Buldansyah, Bakrie Telecom’s Deputy President Director.

With Redknee’s NGRC solution, Bakrie Telecom has the tools to deliver a better subscriber experience while utilising its network resources more effectively. In addition to rating according to network access type, NGRC also enables operators to effectively rate and charge data by currency, application, volume and time in order to package services in everyday terms, such as two songs or three days of service. This enables the operator to support targeted promotions with attractive and flexible payment options that subscribers want.  For Bakrie Telecom’s customers, this subscriber-centric model means that they are presented with clearly defined service options and flexible payment plans. This provides them with added visibility and control over how much they spend, the confidence to try new services and the ability to manage all of this through various self-care options.

“We are delighted to continue our successful relationship with Bakrie Telecom. Through its expanded investment with Redknee, Bakrie Telecom proves its commitment to providing enhanced services and a better mobile experience to its subscribers as it leads the Indonesian market into the next generation,” stated Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee’s CEO.  "At Redknee, we continue to invest in real-time monetisation solutions to support the growth of mobile data and content for wireless subscribers around the world.”
